Kilimanjaro

Today I am leaving with our team to go to Tanzania. Tomorrow we have a prepping/briefing talk with the climbing company to know what to expect during the hike. And on Monday we begin our ascent. The hike is 7 days allowing some time to get acclimatized to high altitude, 5895m. We ascend for 5.5 days and descend for 1.5 days. I am excited for this opportunity, I feel prepared for the most part. After getting my cold weather gear from Canada brought over I have been itching to wear it. I need to go to the top of Africa to experience some cold and snow here.

Prayer requests:
-Safety and health for our team of 11 climbers.
-I feel physically fit to do this as it is not a difficult hike, but I am not sure how I will react to the high altitude. Pray that our team is able to cope with the altitude and make it to the top of the mountain.
-I am leaving behind a lot of work that need to be done shortly after I return. It has made for a busy week leading up to the trip and will mean a busy week when I return.

I am excited to go, thank you for your prayer and support,

God bless,
Matt
