Leaving in a Month

I don't fully like the idea of blogging but thought this would be the easiest way to communicate with people. So I'll give it a try.

My flight is booked, I leave for Uganda on August 26th. I have been back in Canada for 2 months already. Time goes by quickly. Leaving still feels distant in my mind, so I need to get my head wrapped around what I am doing. I have a few smaller details to work out before I go but for the most part things are set. I will be living in a house with the male interns, it is within walking distance from the office, until I find something more permanent. I will get a three month visa when I land, then apply for my work permit.

It has been encouraging to be back this summer. It have had a great time reconnecting with friends and family. It has been busy and I can't believe there is only one month left. It is encouraging to see other people getting excited about what I am doing.

I have been enjoying being back at work in Toronto, much more than I anticipated. One of the advantages of returning for only a couple of months is that they cannot give me too much work. I have been busy but not too busy. One of my biggest complaints before with work is being too busy, so the pace of this summer has been very enjoyable. I have three weeks left of work, a week to prepare and then I leave.

Things to pray for:
Preparations: most of the big details have been worked out. But I do not feel prepared in my mind. Pray that God would prepare me for Uganda.
Support: I do not know how this is going yet as I have just started. There were a few details that needed to be worked out with EMI`s different offices that delayed me. I believe God is in this and he will provide the support I need.

Thanks and God bless,

Matt
